Philanthropy

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

John F. Kennedy

Love The Community

In 2008 when Blain and Kim Roberts founded Westport Winery they wanted to teach their children to love enterprise, love the environment and love the community. In the winery's first ten years of operation the family donated over $500,000 to local charitable organizations.

When Blain, Kim, Carrie and Dana Roberts founded Ocean's Daughter Distillery in 2019 they decided to dedicate some proceeds to creating the International Mermaid Museum. As the former owners of Lahaina Divers on the Hawaiian island of Maui, the family had a deep history in the undersea world that they wanted to share with others.

The International Mermaid Museum is an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization. One component of the museum's mission is to offer scholarships to local students to pursue continuing education in becoming merchant mariners or licensed USCG captains. Both Blain and Kim had been USCG captains in their careers and look at that experience as one of the most important in their lives.
